After being picked-up at the airport or your hotel you drive through the hill country to Nuwara Eliya, home of the Ceylon Tea.On the way you will be visiting the famous Elephant Orphanage in Pinawella and Horton's Plains, the only National Park situated in Sri Lanka's Hill Country.The large sambar population, along with the purple-faced langurs, wild boar and barking deer support a small number of leopards ore not the only attractions to be seen.
Horton Plains is also one of the top destinations for bird watchers who visit the area to look for several of Sri Lanka's endemics; these include the Yellow Eared Bulbul, the Ceylon Hill White Eye, Ceylon Whistling Thrush and the Ceylon Blue Magpie. The mountain forest is very distinctive with all the trees reaching a similar height to protect themselves against excessive precipitation, the western slopes support the most extensive area of cloud forest in the country.

In the morning you begin the journey to Yala National Park, known for its abundance of wildlife. Afternoon safari by 4 wheel drive Jeep together with driver / guide. Yala is one of the best parks in the world to observe and photograph leopards in the wild. There are about 35 leopards in the park which probably is the highest density than anywhere else. Young males in particular seem to have no fear of the jeep, which can lead to some excellent photographic opportunities.
Other animals to bee seen at the Yala National Park include bears, monkeys, wild boar and thousand of local and migrant birds. Just to name a few.
In the afternoon you will have the opportunity to embark on another safari or just relax at the pool and watch all kind of animals passing by on their way to their resting places.

In the morning another wildlife safari or start your journey back to the airport / hotel along Sri Lanka's South Coast where you will be visiting a turtle hatchery and a boat ride on the Madu Ganga where you can watch small crocodiles, water lizards and many more marine animal.
